ho chi minh trail

Yesterday afternoon I went on a surf/photo trek to blacks beach. This is called the ho chi minh trail route. You may wonder, why is it called the ho chi minh trail? This is why...

1st challenge

2nd challenge..
You must hold your surfboard(sorry shortboards only) up over your head and use your sides against the walls for leverage and balance.

Going up is even more fun. You must "power" up the first few steps at the bottom because they are washed out and if you don't, you wont have enough momentum to make it up to the good footholds. *This is all while holding you surfboard over your head of course*

This slippery sandy part of the trail runs along a deep crevice formed by a small stream.

Eventually the dirt/sand turns into a muddy and slippery death clay just in time for the steepest and final decent to the beach below.
All in all, its about a 20-25min hike down to the beach. Usually the waves are well worth the effort.

Most people use the much easier road to walk down to the beach. Its the longest way down, however, both in time and distance.

oh those lefts..
