Malibu

Went up to the 'Bu on Thursday to get some of this latest south swell. Its always a bit of a gamble going up there this time of year but we SCORED! Solid waist to chest high+ glassy peelers with Perfecto weather and not too bad of a crowd. One of the clearest days I've ever surfed Malibu..Catalina Island looked like a stones throw across the LA basin.

 Due to the ongoing lagoon restoration project the sand and cobblestone configuration at 1st point and on up is very strange...never seen it like this before. Going to be interesting to see how the sand flow and shape of the point changes throughout this upcoming summer.

Didn't affect the surf though. First point was doing its thing just like always. Paddled out around 2pm and surfed til dark (8pm..ish). Got really fun with the evening high tide push.

Kreis 5

On Thursday, the day before my flight back to the States, I left Spiez and took the train back up to Zürich/Greifensee.

Thursday night I went out with Marco, his good friend Patrick, and Stephanie. We went to an up and coming area in northwest Zürich known as Kreis 5...called District 5 in English.

 Its a very industrial area with a lot of buildings slowly being converted into bars/restaurants/clubs. A big elevated train track(or maybe its a road) runs above the main street. Almost a bit like ny. I'm sure Chad has probably been to the Freitag store here.

Anyways I got a ride with Patrick and Marco and we met Stephanie down at Wurst & Moritz. Wurst & Moritz is a place that has extremely good Currywurst. It's SO GOOD!! They have all different kinds and I got the spicy one.

  

 After Currywurst we walked to a bar lounge called Clouds. Its on the 35th floor of a highrise tower. (The tallest building in Switzerland I think?) It was very cool. Awesome views of Zürich through all the floor to ceiling glass windows.
